রাজধানী বদলানো আট দেশ

সম্প্রতি রাজধানী পরিবর্তনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে মিশর। বর্তমান রাজধানী কায়রো থেকে ৭০০ কিলোমিটার দূরে নতুন প্রশাসনিক রাজধানী করার পরিকল্পনা করেছে সমারিক বাহিনী নিয়ন্ত্রিত সরকার। মিশরই সর্বশেষ দেশ যারা তাদের রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করতে যাচ্ছে।

মিশরের আগে বিশ্বের আরো আটটি দেশ তাদের রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করেছে।

১. নাইরেজিয়া: আফ্রিকান দেশ নাইজেরিয়া তাদের রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করে ১৯৯১ সালে। সেসময় তারা লাগোস-এর পরিবর্তে দেশের সবচেয়ে বড় এবং অর্থনৈতিক শহর আবুজাকে রাজধানী ঘোষণা করে।

২. মিয়ানমার: মিয়ানমারের সামরিক সরকার রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করে ২০০৫ সালে। রেঙ্গুন (ইয়াংগুন) থেকে ৩২০ কি. মি দূরে নতুন রাজধানী করা হয় নেপিডো-তে। নতুন রাজধানী আগেরটির চেয়ে দেশের অনেক বেশি অভ্যন্তরে এবং কৌশলগতভাবে ভালো অবস্থানে। সেখানকার অনেকেই বিশ্বাস করে, রাজধানীতে বিদেশী আক্রমণ হতে পারে, জ্যোতিষীদের কাছ থেকে এমন একটি সতর্কবার্তা পা্ওয়ার পরই কর্তৃপক্ষ রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করেছে।

৩. রাশিয়া: সেন্ট পিটার্সবার্গ থেকে মস্কোতে রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করে রাশিয়া। ১৭০৩ সালে পিটার দ্য গ্রেট প্রতিষ্ঠিত রাজধানী কার্যকর ছিল ১৭১২-১৯১৪ পর্যন্ত।

৪. পাকিস্তান: ১৯৫৯ সালে পাকিস্তান তাদের রাজধানী পরিবর্তনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। সেসময় দক্ষিণাঞ্চলীয় শহর করাচি থেকে উত্তরের ইসলামাবাদে রাজধানী স্থাপন করার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। তবে নতুন রাজধানীর কাজ চলায় প্রায় একদশক করাচিতেই থাকে রাজধানী।

৫. ব্রাজিল: ১৯৫০ পর্যন্ত ব্রাজিলের রাজধানী ছিল  রিও ডি জেনিরো। সেটা বাদ দিয়ে দেশের কেন্দ্রে অবস্থিত ব্রাসিলিয়াকে করা হয় রাজধানী।

৬. কাজাখস্তান: অতি সম্প্রতি রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করা দেশের মধ্যে আছে কাজাখস্তান।  ১৯৯৭ সালে কাজাখদের পরিবর্তিত রাজধানীর নাম হয় আস্তানা। তবে পরিবর্তন হলেও পুরনো রাজধানী আলমাতাই দেশের সবচেয়ে বড় ও ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ শহর।

৭. তানজানিয়া: মার্কিন প্রকৌশলী জেমস রোসাটের পরিকল্পনায় তানজানিয়ার নতুন রাজধানীর কাজ শেষ ১৯৮০ সালে।  নাম দেয়া হয় দোদুমা। তবে অন্য দেশের মতো রাজধানী পরিবর্তন করে সফল হয়নি এ আফ্রিকান  দেশটি। রাজধানী পরিবর্তন হলেও সেদেশের এমপি-মন্ত্রী এবং বিদেশী মেহমানরা থাকেন পুরনো রাজধানী দারুস সালামেই।

৮. আইভরি কোস্ট: আইভরি কোস্টের সবচেয়ে বড় এবং অর্থনৈতিক শহর আবিদজান। কিন্তু স্বাধীনতাকালীন নেতা ফেলিক্স হাউপেত বায়োগেনি তার জন্মস্থানে অবস্থিত শহরে নতুন রাজধানী স্থাপনের পরিকল্পনা করেন। তার পরিকল্পনা অনুসারে ১৯৮৩ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় রাজধানী ইয়ামাসুকরে।

If you've ever traveled to a foreign country, you'll know how quickly you tend to give in and buy that $30/hr airport Wi-Fi during a 3-hour layover. Travel blogger and computer security engineer, Anil Polat, used to be like you. But now he's not. 

Anil travels a lot and got sick of paying for terrible Wi-Fi. So he started compiling a list of the passwords for all the internet connections at the airports he frequents meaning that you can access them for free. And with some help from other travellers, he's managed to cover pretty much every major airport in the world.

The map is updated frequently, so the chances are that most are correct. If you're planning a trip soon, just click on the airport of your choice on the map below to see all your options.
